ORGANIC GARDENING MADE EASY

SYNOPSIS

Master gardener Lee O’Hara has researched, tested and put into practice simple applications of organic gardening methods over the past 20 years. Lee now grows up to 2000 pounds of purely organic vegetables at home each year in an area no larger than a two-car garage (about 400 square feet). It is his wish for every gardener to produce such an abundance of their own healthy vegetables, while at the same time reducing the chemical poisoning of our environment. In ORGANIC GARDENING MADE EASY, Lee describes and demonstrates the fundamental knowledge that anyone can use to start growing organic crops right away - whether they have a few square feet or a several acres of land.

Presented in a cinematic style, the colorful video of the lush gardens provides a rich backdrop for this educational program. Flourishing plants and prolific vegetable production give visual testament to the results that can be obtained by using organic methods.

The program was shot on digital video during one annual growing season in Lee’s garden, and has been edited to one hour finished length for DVD release.

In the first half of the program Lee provides an introduction and instruction on: building raised gardening beds; preparing and fertilizing the soil for organic gardening; constructing a drip watering system; and organic control of garden pests.

The segments which follow show organic methods in use in Lee’s home garden, and document planting, growing and harvesting of: Lettuce; Beets; Summer Squash;Onions; and Tomatoes.

In the short segment which concludes the program, Lee emphasizes the importance of organic gardening in reducing the destruction of our environment by chemicals, and mandates our duty to rebuild our soil so that we might preserve and pass on this vital natural resource to future generations.

We hope you enjoy ORGANIC GARDENING MADE EASY, and wish you the health and wellness that comes with organic gardening.
