In short
Mohammad Yunus is the founder of the Grameen Bank. He and his company won the 2006 Nobel Peace prize, for pioneering the use of microcredit, or very small loans, to the poor women of Bangladesh who do not qualify for loans from conventional banks. No collateral is needed and repayment is based on an honor system.
Yunus uses the word "we" instead of I. He did not actually win the prize -- "we" did, he emphasized without emphasis. The prize, split in two half (one for the Grameen, one for Yunus), was received by a woman who is one of the 7 million Grameen Bank borrowers. At the ceremony, Yunus's message was very much focused on empowerment and education.
