From the website:

"We would like to help your business to reduce its carbon footprint. Our Carbon Neutral Door to Door Scheme will help you get a foot in the door.

This scheme aims to minimise the environmental impact of our Door to Door service for the delivery of unaddressed items. To encourage you to join this scheme, we’ll help you to make your mailings more environmentally friendly. Once this has been achieved, we’ll pay to offset any remaining carbon produced by your mailing. You’ll be able to use our logo to show your customers that your mailing is carbon neutral.

Evaluating: We can calculate the CO2? emissions produced by your individual mailing and how much needs to be offset to make your mailing carbon neutral. We have developed a tool that can calculate how much carbon has been produced by the design and print, right through to the distribution and delivery of your mailings. Our model takes into consideration a range of factors such as the number of mail items and how they have been produced.

Minimising: We’ll help you to target your mailing more effectively to improve the efficiency of your campaigns. And by adopting the practices outlined in our creative and production requirements. you can minimise the carbon impact of your mailing.

Offsetting: Once the carbon impact of the mailing has been reduced as far as possible, and meets our minimum requirements, we’ll help you work out any remaining CO2 emissions from the mailing. Then we’ll pay to offset these emissions in order to make your mailing carbon neutral.

How does offsetting work? Once we’ve worked out the remaining CO2 emissions of your mailing, our model can translate this into a monetary value. This is the amount that needs to be invested in order to offset the full amount of carbon produced by your mailing. We will pay this amount to one of our offset scheme partners such as The Woodland Trust. Once this amount has been paid, your mailing will be carbon neutral – it will have net zero emissions. Net zero emissions does not mean that there will be no impact on the environment; but the impact will have been reduced as far as possible.

What does my business have to do? To take part in this scheme, we will ask you to meet our environmental requirements. These include factors such as using paper from recycled and sustainable sources, using printers and mailing agents that have recognised environmental accreditation and management schemes in place and including information to consumers promoting the recycling of the mail items.
